AC (Alternating Current)

An electric current that reverses direction at regular intervals. 

• Both level 1 and level 2 charging uses alternating current.
• The charge controller in an electric vehicle takes alternating current from the level 1 or level 2 charger and converts the energy into direct current (DC) to charge the electric vehicles battery.
